”As I sit here I wonder if you, my teacher, are able to tell when I am sinking in spirit and ready to quit this incredible task.
I walked a thousand miles dear teacher, before I met you.”  (R.Ibanez)

At a time when school districts everywhere are experiencing fast-growing enrollments of English language learners (ELLs), many leaders are asking what they can do to meet the diverse students’ needs.  What kinds of knowledge and skills will my staff require? What can I do as an instructional leader to support my staff and ELLs.   School and district leaders play a crucial role in creating an envrionment that ensures ELLs and those who support them can succeed.  Drawing from stories, experience and research, JJ will highlight ways in which we can deepen and expand our professional leadership practice to support our staff, our English Language Learners and celebrate their presence in our schools.  Participants will leave the session with best practices and resources they can use immediately in their schools.
