Said El Mejdani is a computer science teacher at Fort McMurray Public School District , Said is a National Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2019, Queen Medal recipient in 2023, USA College Board AP Computer Science A diversity award recipient (2023) and NCWIT Western Canada Educator award winner. He holds a Bsc. Math from Ibn Toufail University in Kenitra, Morocco, a B.Ed from Ecole Normal Superieur in Rabat, Morocco, and a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from the Univesity of Sherbrook, Canada. With a passion for disruptive technology and innovation, Said embraces students who are uninterested in academics and provides an avenue for them to experience success. He knows every student can thrive when they drive their own learning, so he coaches students to think critically to reach their goals.
As a life-long learner, Said believes that students grow when challenged with computational thinking, problem solving and product-oriented learning. As a father of three, one of his great passions in life is to see kids grow and learn.
